Sustainable action is an integral part of BODE Chemie’s company culture. Decisions, process improvements and the implementation of new ideas is based on the three cornerstones of economic, ecological and social sustainability. From logistics, product development to staff – BODE Chemie accepts its responsibility to conserve resources, protect the environment and offer its employees best working conditions.

All these efforts contribute to the enterprise’s sustained development and make BODE Chemie fit for the future.

How we put sustainability into practice

Whether it’s ensuring we use resources carefully, finding alternative materials to make our packaging plastic-free, or supporting humanitarian aid organisations – we achieve our goals by acting responsibly and giving back to society.
Some examples:
With an integrated environmental management system certified in accordance with the international ISO 14001 standard, BODE fulfils the high international demands in terms of environmental protection. In 1996, the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) introduced the ISO 14001 international standard for environmental management systems. Since then, annual internal and external audits by accredited organisations have reviewed whether the factual conditions are consistent with laws as well as self-imposed voluntary commitments and objectives within environmental management.

In addition, the regional environmental commitment is integral part of the company’s philosophy. Being member of the Environmental Partnership Program Hamburg (UmweltPartnerschaft Hamburg), BODE Chemie supports the improvement of Hamburg’s environmental balance and the promotion of sustainable economic activity.

Recycling is a key factor in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and thus makes a significant contribution to climate protection. The recycling of our sales packaging through the dual system resulted in a reduction of 1.369 metric tons of CO2 equivalents in 2021.
