List of Disinfectants of the Association for Applied Hygiene (VAH; former DGHM list)
The list of disinfectants of the Association for Applied Hygiene (VAH) contains products for prophylactic and other disinfection measures in health care facilities. Disinfectant manufacturers are not bound to register their products in this list. Unless in case of officially ordered decontaminations the user is at liberty to choose a disinfectant. Editor of this list of disinfectants is the VAH in co-operation with the societies represented in the VAH: German Society for Hygiene and Microbiology, German Association of Hospital Hygiene, Society of Hygiene, Environmental and Public Health Sciences and the Federal Association of Doctors in Public Health Services. The list of disinfectants of the VAH supersedes the former list of disinfectants of the German Society for Hygiene and Microbiology (DGHM). Since July 1, 2004 the certification of disinfectants for prophylactic use is carried out by the VAH’s disinfectant committee. Certificates issued by the DGHM committee are valid and equivalent until the end of their regular validity (three years after issue date).
