Hand hygiene for the prevention of nosocomial infection

Targeted use of hand disinfectants in connection with improved compliance can reduce the rate of hospital infection by 40 percent. This is what a recently published overview study concludes. After the evaluation of scientific literature and of national and international recommendations on hand hygiene the authors clearly summarised the current findings on the subjects hand disinfection, protective gloves, compliance, skin protection and skin care and their role in preventing nosocomial infections.
