BODE Chemie becomes wholly-owned subsidiary of PAUL HARTMANN AG
On 20th October 2008, Beiersdorf AG sold its 100% interest in BODE Chemie to PAUL HARTMANN AG. At BODE Chemie’s staff meeting, which took place on 21st October 2008, it was announced that the purchase agreement includes a long-term guarantee for the Hamburg location and no compulsory redundancies. Ownership will be transferred at the end of the year.
As one of Europe’s leading specialists for disinfection, hygiene, and skin protection and with Sterillium® – the first marketable alcohol-based hand disinfectant – the long-established company from Hamburg excellently fits in the portfolio of HARTMANN AG. The Heidenheim-based company offers system solutions in the areas of wound, incontinence and OR management to professionals in medicine and care. Through its integration into the HARTMANN GROUP, BODE Chemie can benefit from HARTMANN’s strong sales network focused on medical practices and care facilities which offers additional growth potential for disinfection products. PAUL HARTMANN AG expands its competencies in the growing market for infection prevention.
“A good solution with many synergy effects that also takes BODE Chemie’s regional role as employer and economic factor in Hamburg into account”, commented Dr. Ulrich Möllers, Managing Director of BODE.
