Semmelweis-Research Prize:
The international jury starts the survey

The application deadline for the Ignaz-Philipp-Semmelweis-Research Prize was last week. Up to and including September 30, 2007 scientists could apply for the joint scientific award of the German Association of Hospital Hygiene (DGKH) and BODE Chemie.

The numerous applications will now be surveyed and evaluated by an international jury. The introduction of the laureate and the grant of the Ignaz-Philipp-Semmelweis-Research Prize will take place at the 9th International Congress of the DGKH from April 20 to 23, 2008.

The global scientific award, which carries 15,000 Euro in prize money, rewards outstanding and innovative achievements in hand hygiene and disinfection as well as body hygiene, aseptic and antiseptic. Established in 1997, the prize will already be awarded for the fifth time.
