REACH regulation

On 1st June 2007, the new European Community regulation on chemicals, REACH (“Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals), became effective. Apart from a few exceptions, manufacturers / importers are now required to register known and new chemical raw materials at the new central European Chemicals Agency (EChA) in Helsinki. For this, comprehensive dossiers which prove a safe handling of the chemicals have to be submitted.
